I was aware that my eyelids were starting to droop a little but it wasn’t until 4 years ago when my cousin asked me multiple times to keep my eyes open for our family photos, I realised how bad they were. It was then that I started thinking about having the surgery but had no idea how to go about it. I started working at CST in September 2022 and chatted to the registered nurses about my options, they encouraged me to go and have a consultation for Blepharoplasty Surgery.
A few doctors names were mentioned around the CST clinic over a period of time. I booked my first consultation with a Canberra surgeon, where I attended and had multiple tests done before seeing the doctor. When I left the appointment, I didn’t feel 100% confident so I decided to look at another doctor interstate.
My second consultation was with Dr Angelo Tsbiras a few months later. I left that consultation with my surgery booked in two weeks’ time. I found him to be very knowledgeable, professional and I had full confidence that the result would be fantastic.
On the day of my surgery, I drove to Sydney to attend the day surgery where I was greeted by a very warm and professional receptionist. I then met my nurse, anaesthetic nurse, anaesthetic doctor and lastly the surgeon.
Everyone explained in full details how the day would proceed and their part in the surgery. They all made me feel very comfortable and confident that everything was going to be ok. The surgery was quick with a short time in recovery before the drive home.
Recovery at home was quite interesting as I had to wear pressure goggles for 80% of the time for 72 hours post surgery. Complete darkness isn’t very pleasant but it was absolutely worthwhile. I had very minimal bruising and no pain at all.
While it has only been 3 weeks since my surgery, I am 100% happy the result and encourage anyone thinking about this surgery to go and see Dr Angelo Tsbiras and his team. They are absolutely fantastic, from the admin to recovery and everyone in between.
Cheers Louise
